I am so excited to share this engagement session with you! I worked really hard to create these images, and I'm beyond happy with them.
Totally Kidding! Let's start the real blog.
Meet Crin & Howie, they are happily engaged and getting married in 2018 in a small backyard wedding at a family members home. With it being just about time to send out save the dates, we jumped on the last week or so of great weather and scheduled the engagement session. We headed out to the UC Davis Arboretum, just outside of Sacramento. One of the nicest things about being a wedding photographer in Sacramento is the vast location options for engagement sessions. Although it was a tad cold, the session was stunning. The glowing golden sunlight being filtered through the towering redwoods was enough to make me swoon. Add in two adorable pups, and coordinating sweaters, and I’m in photographer heaven.
We laughed all throughout the engagement session, and were having a great time. My excitement was building with every click of the shutter, knowing we were absolutely NAILING it! Towards the end of the session, we decided to go throw some fall leaves around. On the way to the spot we were planning on using Howie asked if I had heard of the movie Masterminds. Yes! That movie has the funniest (and most stupid) photography scene in it! If you haven't seen the movie, here is a link to the scene for your enjoyment (and some context for the above pictures). It wasn't long before we found ourselves making our own awkward engagement photos.
I haven't laughed as hard as I did at this engagement session in a long time. When I booked Crin & Howie for their 2018 wedding, I had no clue that I hit the 'fun client jackpot'. I loved that they had no issue being completely silly in public place. I can only wonder what the passer-by's thought about not only them, but my judgement as an engagement photographer! I decided that it wasn't a good day to hand out any business cards.
