Once Upon a Time...
When it’s your time to get married, everyone wants to know the details. To my surprise, a lot of clients meet in high school. To say that this couple blew that out of the water is an understatement.
Lindsey and Joshua met in 2007 while in middle school. They were at a friend’s birthday party when they first locked eyes, and the rest is history.
Soon after meeting, they decided they should start dating. “This only lasted a few months,” Lindsey stated, “and then I broke things off because we never saw each other since neither of us drove.”
What?! That’s it?! Nope, the story gets even better.
After breaking up, Joshua then dated one of Lindsey’s friends. Lindsey states she “accidentally broke them up since they never kissed.” It turns out Joshua was saving his first kiss for someone special- his wife, who of course would later turn out to be Lindsey.
Fast forward to 2011, while moving, Joshua found an old picture of him and Lindsey. He then contacted her and they started talking once again. This time, they didn’t stop. They began to date, having their first kiss on their first date. One month after dating, Joshua moved away, only to leave for the Army five months following.
Not only is their story unique, but their wedding was as well. They made sure to incorporate their love story into their wedding. Since travel and long distance had been such a major part of their relationship, they focused their wedding on the theme of travel. But that’s not all- Lindsey made 90% of their travel-themed décor!
On their wedding day, their love story was taken to the next level, as they started their happily ever after. And that they did. Their first dance together was “Go the Distance” from Hercules, one of Lindsey’s favorite memories from her wedding day.
And as if this wedding wasn’t magical enough, they followed up their wedding by honeymooning in Disneyland, California. “We will start our life together in Hawaii then see where the Army sends us. We plan to both pursue careers and have children down the line.”
Congratulations, Lindsey and Joshua! May the magic forever continue.
