Sarah and Jesse Layton are a very special couple. I do many, many weddings, but their story has stuck with me in a way no one else's has.
Sarah is also a Lularoe Consultant and runs her own store online (click the bold words to see her store). Jesse is a sales manager at an automotive dealership in Placerville. They have a beautiful daughter named Averie who of course was a big part of all the festivities!
Sarah and Jesse's love story started when they both worked at a restaurant in El Dorado Hills. Jesse was Sarah's manager, and through seeing each other quite often and serious flirting, they started dating. Their love has not failed since.
I first worked with this couple during their engagement session. They brought little Averie with them, and the couple was so pleased with their images, saying "During our engagement pictures we had our one year old with us and she was so patient and sweet with her. The photos came out AMAZING and we were excited to get them printed on canvas for our big day."
Flash forward to their wedding day, they had an elegant venue at Villa Florentina in Coloma, about an hour outside of Sacramento. The sun was shining and the couple was glowing with excitement. They venue was decorated with gorgeous natural colors , including whites, greens, and an added a pop of maroon.
Her bouquet was hand crafted by the lovely Bloom-Sacramento to match the colors of the wedding, showcasing carefully selected white flowers, succulents and other greenery, with a pop of maroon to really wow the guests.
The bridesmaids and groomsmen matched just the same. They were the pop of maroon in this gorgeous outdoor ceremony.
On their wedding day, we remembered Sarah's father, who unexpectedly passed away just four years before. Although 4 years seems like a bit of time, his memory and love was vividly present during the day. The couple even set up a table with pictures of those who have passed before us, so that they could be a part of the wedding festivities too.
During the wedding and our consultations, those who talked about her father talked about him in only the best light. I could feel the love they had for him, and it really stuck with me. I had to do something special for her, but i wasn't sure what.
There were so many strong emotions that day including love and excitement. I could tell, thinking back, that the absence of Sarah's father was reflected through some of her emotions during the day.
As a surprise, I created the image below. I then met with Sarah for lunch and delivered the picture framed. "When she gave me my gift I was absolutely brought to tears.. like ugly crying tears. "
After the gift was delivered, Sarah went home and wrote me the absolute sweetest Yelp review saying, "Ashley was our Engagement, Boudoir AND wedding photographer. She was absolutely a joy to work with on all three occasions...Ashley made that (picture of her dad) a reality I never thought I would have. I've cried looking at it all day today. THANK YOU ASHLEY TEASLEY for making the impossible, possible. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!"
Sarah expressed to me her favorite memory of her dad was his love for all of his daughters. During the reception, her sister mentioned her father as well, saying he used to call Sarah his "goof". Her sister wrote in her speech that she was his goof and now there is another little goof too, Averie.
Throughout this entire wedding and creating my gift for the couple, I have to admit there were tears in my eyes.
I am so happy this couple has so much joy in their lives, and I'm so glad I could make something they never thought they would have a reality .
